When a donor gives through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from his or her IRA, he or she receives the following benefits:
- Eliminate tax owed on Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
- Family remains in control of the donor’s individual retirement assets
- Helps preserve after-tax money for the donor’s family
- Ensures accurate tax filing
- May lower insurance premiums due to lower adjusted gross income (AGI)
