At Archford, we provide college students with hands-on, invaluable experience they cannot receive in a classroom setting. As an Archford Scholar, they will get the unique opportunity to work alongside leaders in the financial and accounting industry. Our goal is to help set them up for lifelong success in their professional careers and future endeavors. In fact, some Archford Scholars are now full-time employees at Archford.

Scholars will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, allowing them to learn about the many different aspects of either the accounting or the wealth management industries and assist with other special projects, including:

Wealth Management

  • Provide day-to-day trading desk and portfolio management support
  • Prepare documentation and client presentation materials
  • Align investment activities and processes to meet industry best practices, enhancing operations and mitigating risk
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to facilitate issue resolution
  • Assist with marketing and business development projects as needed

Tax & Accounting Services

  • Utilize UltraTax software to assist with the preparation of individual and business income tax returns
  • Prepare supporting workpapers and conduct research to streamline tax workflow
  • Assist with client bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and other financial reporting requirements
  • Compile industry research and prepare financial models related to business valuation engagements
  • Communicate directly with clients on tax and financial matters, providing proactive customer service

Data Analytics & Process Improvement

  • Work directly with Archford Leadership Team on executing strategic projects and initiatives
  • Review existing processes and systems to identify automation and improvement opportunities
  • Utilize data visualization tools to develop dashboards and reports monitoring key performance indicators
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain and enhance Salesforce CRM platform

 

Each scholar will receive a $4,000 stipend for their education.
Qualifications to be an Archford Scholar:

Education & Experience:
A background in business, finance or accounting is a plus; an interest in helping others is a requirement.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • A willingness to learn and ask questions is essential;
  • Detail oriented, organized and should possess strong communication skills (oral and written);
  • Ability to multi-task, solve problems and manage deadlines;
  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to take on new challenges when presented with opportunities;
  • Observe and assist in issue resolution
